Meet Our New Pastor !

After a period of thoughtful prayer, Senior Pastor Shani Richards and her family have made the decision to move to the eastern United States.

 

She began her tenure as Senior Pastor of The Open Door House of Prayer Ministries, (TODHOP) in October of 2015. Pastor Richards has been a lifelong member of TODHOP. As a native of Stockton, Pastor Richards had nearly two decades of experience in the non-profit and public sector, including as an adjunct instructor at San Joaquin Delta College. Previously, Pastor Richards served in community and legislative affairs roles where she worked collaboratively and partnered within various Central Valley communities. She most recently served as the Assistant Director of Learning and Development at the University of the Pacific.  

 

Assistant Pastor Henry D. Phillips served as Interim Pastor until the Board of Trustees ratified the congregations selection of him as new senior pastor. Pastor Phillips is also a lifelong member of TODHOP. He was ordained as an Elder of the church in 2015. He has been the director of Christian Education, as well as TODHOP’s Media Ministry director for over 15 years. Pastor Phillips holds an AA in communications from San Joaquin Delta College, and a BA in liberal studies from the University of the Pacific. He also received his Master of Arts in Education Administration from Pacific. He will additionally become the chairperson of TODHOP’s Board of Trustees. Pastor Phillips has been married to Angela Phillips for over 25 years, and the couple has 4 adult children.
